If you are a Wes Anderson fan, this picture book was made for you. If you aren't, we suggest you become one.
One of my favorite things about Wes Anderson's movies are the sets, they are amazing because of the attention to detail and sometimes it is hard for me to decide whether or not to focus on the set or the characters.
Marianne Dubuc's illustrations in this book are the same way. Luckily, she has kept the text sparse so that you can study the details of the pictures.
As the title suggests, we follow along with Mr. Postmouse as he makes his rounds. Each spread provides a detailed cross section of various abodes ranging from a rabbit's burrow to a yeti den. Although the text is sparse it is humorous and it balances the illustrations perfectly.
If you've ever wondered how rabbits live or where a fish lounges while reading you will be charmed by the answers Ms. Dubuc provides. I know we were; so much so that I've ordered a copy of this book for our own library.
Recommended ages: 3-7
